FCP Chairman John Nelson advises the Rail Value for Money study

23rd March 2011

FCP Chairman John Nelson has been advising the Rail Value for Money study since August 2010. In this capacity he has been a member of the Advisory Board led by Sir Roy McNulty. Other members of the Advisory Board are John Armitt, (former Chief Executive of Network Rail), David Rowlands (former Permanent Secretary at the Department of Transport), Chris Bolt (former Chairman of the Office of Rail Regulation) and Andrew Haines (CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority). Sir Roy’s recommendations to the Secretary of State, Philip Hammond, are expected to be made in April.Read the full story

Railway Children

Railway Children supports street children, many of whom live in and around railway stations, all over the world. In 2006 Railway Children helped over 24,000 children.

Railway Children was launched at Waterloo station by Bob Horton, then the Chairman of Railtrack; and one of FCP's directors - Tony Roche, then a Main Board Director of British Rail, in May 1995.

Railway Benefit Fund

The Railway Benefit Fund was founded in 1858 (as the Railway Benevolent Institute) to provide financial support to current and ex railway employees and their dependents when they need help through illness, injury, bereavement or adversity.
