Because
of the extensive multi-functional experience held by First Class
Partnerships directors and consultants we are often called upon to
provide the expert eye of an objective outsider in reviewing the
current and potential performance of individual companies and
organisations in the rail sector. Indeed this experience, coupled
with the current knowledge many of our directors have of actively
running railways, is one of the reasons that First Class Partnerships
is the UK Government's choice as Operator
of Last Resort.
On
various occasions FCP has been commissioned to review the performance
of various train operating companies, either at the request of the
Department for Transport
or at the request of the companies themselves. These companies have
covered a wide spectrum of passenger
operations including high
speed passenger services, suburban
and metro operations. To be called in by
a major publicly quoted company to review the performance of the
entire management of one of its largest subsidiaries was in itself a
testament to the high reputation of our directors and companies.
Another, a FTSE 100 company, sought our advice on the development of
techniques by which they could benchmark the relative effectiveness
of a number of subsidiaries.
