Equal Opportunities

The Equal Opportunities Commission was established in 1975 and is empowered to issue Codes of Practice with the purpose of eliminating discrimination in employment, promoting equality of opportunity between men and women and giving guidance as to the steps it is reasonably practicable for employers to take to ensure they do not act unlawfully. While the main responsibility for eliminating discrimination rests with the employer individual employees also have responsibilities not to discriminate.

FCP supports the employment policies that the Equal Opportunities Commission sets out in its code of practice applying consistent criteria for selection that reflect a fair and appropriate work life balance that gives equal opportunity regardless of gender, marital status, or age. Although not included in the Code of Practice it extends this policy in terms of disability and ethnic background.

The nature of consultancy business requires adherence to the code of practice for contract workers and FCP recognises its responsibilities to ensure that associates working for customers are not subject to discrimination in the workplace where they are assigned in accordance with Section 9 of the 1975 Act. The company is aware of the importance that the Equal Opportunities Commission attaches to work place harassment and has in place a process for associates to report any unwelcome behaviour that could be so construed.

FCP invites applications to join the firm as associates through this web site and will measure those that apply against a written specification for each assignment for which qualified individuals are required.
