Passenger Operations
Put at its simplest, FCP knows about running railways. Our directors and consultants are all experts in their fields, none more so than in passenger operations where our capability is recognized by having been the British Operator of Last Resort since 1999, a role that we have been called upon to fulfil by the UK Government and an area in which our advice has been sought even more often.
Our team has experience of all kinds of passenger railway, in the management of the infrastructure on which they operate and of the fleets that serve them. We have extensive experience of high speed passenger services, regional operations and of suburban and metro systems in complex operating environments.
It is a pre-qualification of our company's directors that they must have operated at Board level in their chosen sector. It is also a pre-qualification that they must have held leading roles in the rail industry in the recent past. It is important not just that our consultants have strong functional expertise but also that the context in which it is applied must be relevant and therefore up-to-date.
Our pure operations expertise extends to specific functions and activities that are vital to the efficient performance of rail companies. These include the effectiveness of management arrangements in train companies, train crew deployment and productivity, train service planning and performance modelling. We also have expertise in assessing the capacity of railway infrastructure and in undertaking feasibility studies for potential new services and projects. We can and do advise railway companies and authorities alike in all of these areas.
