FCP's
biggest strength is its people. It is a
pre-qualification of our company's directors that they must have
operated at Board level in their chosen sector. It is also a
pre-qualification that they must have held leading functional or
non-executive roles in the rail industry in the recent past. Much the
same applies to our consultants and associates in their particular
field of specialism. It is important not just that they have strong
functional expertise but also that the context in which it is applied
must be relevant and therefore up-to-date.
Another
strength of FCP is that its high reputation in the sector acts as a
magnet attracting some of the best railwaymen and women of each
generation to work as consultants and associates with us. Not only
are they able to fulfil important consulting roles on assignments
across the company's range of activity but they are also able to fill
interim posts including directors and project managers in the rail
industry, thus also adding to their range of experience whilst
keeping it current.
The
career paths followed by our directors and consultants mean that many
of them are respected for their ability to mentor others, provide
career advice and to help facilitate on those occasions when getting
groups of managers together is the best way to solve a problem,
especially where this might be at the interface between different
organisations or companies. They have even been know to provide
advice in the conduct of employee relations where these threaten to
destabilise a company's performance.
The
expertise and reputations of many of our directors and consultants
are such that FCP is called upon to provide expert witnesses in a
variety of situations ranging from revenue allocation disputes
between companies to much more serious situations where major
insurance claims are involved, sometimes involving highly charged
issues of public safety.
