First Class Partnerships

Rest of the World

FCP's first foray beyond the European continent came in 2003 when our Chairman, John Nelson, was invited to provide strategic counsel including a presentation on the British experience of railway prvivatisation to the US Congress in Washington DC. Since then FCP has made significant progress in developing its business to support clients in many parts of the world. We have established an office in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where we are represented by Tony Vallejo. We have recently provided advice to the Government of Argentina concerning its franchising strategies and we have also been active in that country in developing a rail option for the removal of slurry as part of an improved environmental strategy that will facilitate the development of copper mines in the interior.

We have also provided support to the Hong Kong Mass Transit Corporation which included advice on European market entry and have also undertaken work there in respect of the merger of MTRC with the KCR organisations.

Since 2006 we have undertaken assignments in respect of various facets of operating passenger and freight railways in the Republic of South Africa. This work has included a substantial technical input concerning the upgrading of several important freight routes, their engineering and infrastructure.
