Edward O'Loughlin, Network Planning Manager, Transport for London
Suburban and Metro Passenger Services
Several of our Directors have life-long experience in the operation of suburban and metro services at surface and underground levels in and around London, Glasgow, Leeds, Sheffield and many other large urban centres. John Nelson, our Chairman, was for six years the Managing Director of Network South East, and John Self OBE, our Director Metro Operations, led the successful completion of the Jubilee Line extension of the London Underground to Docklands.
First Class Partnerships has advised Transport for London on setting up a train operating company for the East London Line, including the provision of interim directors, programme and project managers. On various occasions we have provided strategic counsel to TfL in support of their development of strategies for surface rail services in London as well as on developing the organisation and relationships it has with other key infrastructure providers and operators.
First Class Partnerships has provided technical operational expertise in helping to determine how best to optimise capacity utilisation as part of the development of Route Studies in the London area whilst in Liverpool we have advised Merseytravel on strategies for vertically integrated operations and infrastructure. As part of franchise bids we have developed fully integrated operating specifications for services on a number of suburban routes in the London area.
We have also provided Interim Managers and Directors for London based Train Operating Companies, including Crossrail.
