Timetable Planning and Performance Modelling
The timetable is fundamental to almost every aspect of a railway operation or project. It defines (or is defined by) the infrastructure functionality and sets the operations costs for crew, rolling stock leasing and maintenance, track access and performance regimes. Most important of all, it is the basis of the railway’s offer to the public, and so determines the revenue that will be captured, forming an essential input to demand forecasting.
Whether for feasibility studies or as a contribution to a functioning railway, FCP is skilled in defining and compiling timetables and the associated resources programmes.
Often the key issue in acceptance of a timetable is its robustness, in which case we can offer specification and management of performance modelling studies to support the eventual decision-making.
Our capabilities have been used on project development, operations costing and access bidding.
